iROADS™

Even the best road networks don’t stay good for long if they are not properly maintained.

iROADS™ is a sophisticated asset management tool that provides a user-friendly ‘one stop shop’ for all your road asset monitoring and forward planning needs. It includes a suite of interconnected toolkits (‘Pavement’, ‘Lifecycle’, ‘Asset’, ‘Risk’ and ‘Operation & Maintenance’) that each focus on key aspects of the asset management business. The iROADS™ package also incorporates TRL’s mobile/tablet-based iCAPTURE software – giving our customers a complete overview of the status of their assets, whether they are in the office or out on the road.

TRL Technologies has been working with Kerala Public Works Department (Kerala PWD), using iROADS™ to overhaul the state’s outdated (15-year-old) road information system. In the project’s first stage, we implemented iROADS on 7,000km of Kerala’s core road network and also launched a mobile app that allowed members of the public to directly report issues. Initial results were highly impressive – including a 99% increase in the number of issues reported and an 83% improvement in the time it took for these issues to be resolved.

Kerala PWD is now looking to digitise the rest of its 33,000km network with the aim of making all of the department’s roads safer, better maintained and less congested.
